Abranet mesh sanding discs from Mirka combine excellent dust-collection, a uniform surface finish and a far longer lifespan than traditional abrasives. Thousands of tiny holes in the mesh material result in superior airflow that dramatically reduces dust when used with a shop vacuum. Unlike traditional discs, there is no need to match up hole patterns. Due to their better ventilation, Abranet discs also run far cooler, resulting in less clogging and a longer life. Abranet discs are used for wood, metal, composite materials and for sanding finishes. They perform beautifully for topcoat sanding, with virtually zero pilling or corning. Made in Finland.Features:Hook-and-loop design for easy grit changesAluminum oxide grain is durable and long lastingRugged resin over resin bondingThousands of small holes for dust free sanding and compatibility with any hole patternExcels at sanding putty, primers, lacquers, composite materials and much more Recommend using Mirka Abranet 5'' Pad Protectors (#53182, sold separately) with any Mirka Abranet Sanding Discs to protect sanding pads. The polyamide fabric on the back of these discs cuts the hooks of the sanding pad unlike ordinary sanding discs.
Using CA glue to finish your pen turnings results in a lustrous, glossy polish, but it can also fuse your pen blank to the bushings. Not so with these non-stick polyethylene bushings in place, however. These bushings are made fromUHMW, the same super-slippery polymer used in our Plastic Jig Stock. They'repre-drilled for a standard mandrel, and have a 60° taper so they'll fit most anysize pen bushing. Just swap these for your metal bushings once the pen isturned, and apply your finish. 4-Pack.Technical Details:Non-Stick Pen Bushings are made of UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight)polyethylene.Pre-drilled for a standard 7mm mandrel (e.g. 43537, sold separately).60° cone-shaped taper fits any size pen bushing. After shaping the pen blank, replace the metal bushings with non-stick plasticbushings and apply your CA finish.Self-lubricating UHMW has a low coefficient of friction, so it sheds glue easily.Very stable - 10x heavier than regular high-density polyethylene.High abrasion resistance and high impact strength even at low temperatures.Resistant to chemicals.
