Allows you to mount a wide variety of turning blanks simply by drilling a 5/16" hole. Just mount the Woodworm Screw in your lathe and thread the blank onto the screw. The screw has a deep thread that is machined right to the end, allowing an easy lead into the wood. The depth of the thread and core size means that even larger wood blanks can be mounted. The screw has a square shank for a positive grip once in the chuck. All this adds up to a screw with a very powerful gripping action. Comes standard with most Nova chucks.Quick and easy method to mount unformed small bowl blanks.Provides a secure mounting to form the outside of bowls. The screw is 23mm (15/16") long, with blades 2mm deep, and the core size is 7mm.10.5mm thread requires a hole about 8mm (5/16") in diameter. The screw has considerable holding power and it is sometimes difficult to unscrew, so wax or oil the thread before mounting your blank.
This Spur Center is just the answer for turners who use their Nova Chuck most of the time, and don't want to have to remove the chuck for spindle work. Just clamp the Spur Center into your chuck, and you're ready to go. It's a rugged, 4-pronged spur drive with a square shank that fits snugly into your Nova chuck jaws. Inward and outward creep is totally eliminated, as the shank is slotted to allow the chuck jaws to close over it. With wedge-shaped prongs at the center, and at each corner, you get five points of contact for a firm grip on your turning blank. Allows you to quickly mount a spur center on your chuck—no need to ever take the chuck off your lathe.Ideal for the bowl turner who also does some spindle work.19mm (3/4") square shank.

Nova Soft Jaws consist of four segments of high-quality soft nylon, which can be cut and customized by the user to their specific requirements. Simply turn them with a scraper to the required dimensions. This allows woodturners to make a special set of non-marring jaws for unique projects. It also allows nearly full diameter contact with the workpiece, since you can turn out to the exact diameter required. Nylon can be turned to shape using standard tools. They can be turned, sawn, drilled or tapped.Because they are made of nylon, they hold most woods without marking. Vibrant red color makes it easy to see profiles. By machining the profile after mounting, you can eliminate any errors that may have added up from mounting the jaws to the chuck, then to the spindle.Maximum contact with workpiece. Near full diameter contact is achievable, since you can turn out to the exact diameter required.Thick jaw body lets user profile any shape they wish, limited only by the fastening heads, which are embedded 22.5mm from the face of the jaws.Outer ring diameter when closed: 120mm (4.7").Thickness: 27mm (1").Tips for customizing the soft jaws:It is recommended to use a scraper that is about 1/2" wide, with an end that is 90° to the side of the scraper. It will cut on both sides and on the end.Recommended bevel angle is about 70 degrees. When scraping nylon, the tool rest must be as close to the work as possible and you must always use a light touch. Run your lathe at a speed between 1700 and 2000 rpm for best cutting. You must take extra care when machining the jaws so as not to hit to hit the screw heads.Features standard on all Nova Jaws:Nova chucks give you the same jaw fixing system and same insert/adaptor system across all chuck models. All accessory jaws in the range will fit all the chucks in the range for optimum flexibility. Some, however, are not recommended. See individual jaws for recommendations. Nova chucks are specially designed so the jaws cut into the wood, grip firmly in the contraction mode and provide high tear out strength.

Cut any pizza quickly and with ease! Robust, well-balanced hardware 3X the weight of competing cutters and a sharp 4" diameter stainless steel blade make this kit a must have for pizza lovers. Simply make your own creative handle (not included) to complete your cutter with personalized flair. Kit includes a 5/16" threaded insert to attach the handle and to remove it for dishwasher cleaning. Patent pending. Also available in a brass finish.See our complete line of Turning Stock to complete your project. Methods to consider for installing the threaded insert are:Use a 5/16" bolt and double nuts on a drill press. Cut the head off a 5/16" bolt and chuck it in a drill press. Then thread on two nuts and the insert so that it is flush with the end of the bolt. Tighten the two nuts on the insert so it won't spin on the bolt. After the pilot hole is drilled in the stock, clamp your stock with a handscrew or a drill press vise and manually turn the drill press chuck to drive the insert into the stock. DO NOT TURN ON THE DRILL PRESS. The drill press will keep the insert square to the stock as it is threaded in. We also recommend using beeswax, screw lube, or even soap to lubricate the threads on the insert. This process can also be done on a lathe using a three jaw chuck in the tailstock to manually feed the insert into the stock. And finally, if you're using acrylics for your handle, we have found that heating the insert before installing it makes it go in like a hot knife in butter.
