Avoid the possibility of joint failure in your chairs, stools or log furniture with this clever expanding cutter and wedge ring system. The high-speed steel Tenon-Lok cutter features spring-action blades that flare out at the base, creating a dovetail-shaped round mortise. The sharpened tapered steel wedge ring then sits in the flared mortise, expanding the tenon with minimal splitting as it gets driven into place. The resulting joint will never come apart and is completely immune to weather-related expansion and contraction. Ideal for repairs or original construction, the Tenon-Lok system requires both a cutter and a matching wedge ring (sold here in convenient multi-packs). Every Tenon-Lok cutter includes a steel setter guide to create an impression on the base of the mortise for the wedge ring to rest in.Using the 1/2" Tenon-Lok Dovetail Drill Bit:1. Drill a standard 1/2" round mortise with a forstner bit or another bit of your choice.2. Chuck the 1/2" Tenon-Lok cutting tool in your drill.3. Before starting the drill, position the Tenon-Lok cutter all the way at the bottom of the mortise.4. Start drilling at a low RPM and push hard enough to extend the cutter's spring-loaded dovetailing blades. Let the drill come to a complete stop before removing the cutter from the mortise.5. On a flat surface, place the setter guide over the ring with the sharp edges up. Fit tenon into guide and tap with mallet just enough to start the ring into the end of the tenon. Now you can proceed with installing the tenon into the mortise. Either clamp the joint together or use a mallet, causing the metal ring to seat itself into the tenon, expanding it for a permanent joint.
This jig allows you to rip thin strips on the left side of the blade, eliminating the danger of pushing narrow strips between the saw and fence. Since the strip is not trapped between the blade and fence, there is also less risk of binding and kickback. It's simple to use; a single knob locks the jig into the miter track and locks your setting at the same time. Ball bearing guide keeps your workpiece firmly against the fence for perfect repeatability. Use the graduated scale to fine-tune for extremely thin strips. Note: Ripping thin strips requires the use of a zero-clearance insert, sold separately. The perfect tool for edging, inlay, bent laminations and more.Solid phenolic for durability.Low-profile miter track clamp locks in at any point along the miter track. Also works great on the bandsaw as a single-point fence for cutting curved slats in multiples.Adjusts from 1-3/8" away from your miter track to 5-11/16" away from your miter track, enough for the thinnest ripsMeasures 5-1/4"W x 8"L.The jig is stationary, while the fence is moved for each cut.Fits 3/4" W x 3/8" D Miter Tracks
All you need is a table with a 3/4'' hole in it to use this incredibly convenient hold-down clamp. Just drop it into any 3/4'' dog hole and it rotates 360° to clamp at any angle. The spiral aluminum dog peg is a full 7-1/2'' long for plenty of height adjustability, while the clamping pad can be adjusted laterally for more or less throat depth. Perhaps best of all, clamping pressure is automatically adjusted when you close the lever! The pressure is adjustable if needed-just turn the adjustment screw. Once set, it stays the same for all stock thicknesses. Try it out for yourself to see how fast and versatile it is! Auto-Adjust: Armor's Auto-Adjust technology automatically adjusts to variations in workpiece dimensions while maintaining consistent clamping pressureAdjustable Clamping Pressure: The integrated adjustment screw is used to create a wide range of clamping pressures. Rotate the screw clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase the clamping forceStrong, Lightweight: Auto Clamps are constructed of ZAMAK Zinc alloy, which allows for an incredibly strong, lightweight toolOne-Handed Operation: Armor's Auto-Pro AutoClamps are designed for one-handed operation, a huge advantage over the competitionLarge Soft-Grip Handle: Horizontal handle features soft insets for maximum grip and comfortIf you do not have a peg table, simply drill a 3/4'' hole in any worktable (Recommended minimum table thickness is 3/4'')
