Carter Multi-Rest Work Support System

Carter Multi-Rest Work Support System
$359.95

Carter's MultiRest provides three strong, helping hands for the most challenging of turnings: big bowls, long vessels, and narrow spindles. Slide the support wheels up against your turning project and flip on the lathe to enjoy unequaled stability and whisper-quiet operation. Each ball-bearing roller assembly can be positioned anywhere around the ring, and adjusted along multiple planes for a wide range of lathe sizes and part diameters. The 2-piece clam shell design quickly swings open, providing easy access when mounting or removing turnings, or when sanding or performing other secondary operations. With the larger ring section removed, the remaining smaller section becomes a bowl rest, providing solid support behind the work piece, yet fully exposing the opposite side of the piece for turning. Made in USA.Technical Details:Compatible with lathe swing sizes from mini up to 20" with no additional hardware required. With purchase of the 2" Lift Blocks (49120, sold separately below), the Multi-Rest can be used on even larger lathes. The base of the MultiRest has independently adjustable spacer blocks that provide a secure fit on lathe beds with way sizes from 1" to 4.5" in width.Multi-ring structure creates great rigidity while keeping the tool's weight to half that of a comparable full steel rest.High strength, laser cut steel and aircraft grade aluminum components assure the ultimate in strength and durability. Each of the MultiRest's bearing mounted, non-marring urethane wheels have a rigid internal ring to prevent sidewall flexThe MultiRest uses the same high strength industrial sealed bearings used in our time tested bandsaw upgrade guides, so they're not your typical skate wheel and bearing. The unit comes stock with 3 wheel assemblies, which is perfect for most tasks.Wheel assemblies can be positioned anywhere around the ring.Patent pending.Made in USA by the same folks who created the famous Carter band saw guides.

10'' Longworth Style Chuck

10'' Longworth Style Chuck
$139.99

Just rotate the plates of the Longworth Style Chuck and the soft silicone buttons close in almost instantly, and with perfect concentricity, to hold your project while you make the finishing cuts to the bottom side. Unlike many other rechucking methods, the silicone buttons won't mar your project or your finish. When compressed with the wing nuts, they expand to provide a secure grip. The 1/4" thick phenolic plates provide strength and stability, regardless of humidity. Available in two sizes: the 10" Longworth Style Chuck for mini and midi lathes with a 10" swing, and the 16" Longworth Style Chuck for standard-sized lathes with a 16" swing or larger. Pick up a piece of fine china, and the first thing you'll do after admiring the faceis turn it over to inspect the bottom and insignia. It's no different with turnedbowls, and turners work hard to make the bottom as beautiful as the top. Replacement packs of buttons with hardware are availableseparately (47455).No assembly required.1/4" phenolic discs are extremely durable, stable, and spin in opposingdirections with almost no resistance. The back side of the Longworth Style Chuck has a steel disk approximately 3/8"thick for mounting. The disk is easily gripped by any brand of 4-jaw scroll chuck with the standard50mm #2 jaws.Straight jaws may be used, but dovetail jaws provide a better hold. The dovetail groove accommodates Nova chucks and Vicmarc chucks as well asOneWay type straight jaws.Recommended maximum RPM is 600.Intended for light finishing cuts only.
