The Powermatic 3520B lathe is the third evolution of the time-honored lathe with many new and improved features. The 3520B retained all the features of the prior models such as the sliding headstock, electronic variable speed with low- and high-speed ranges and the spindle lock. The enhanced features include a digital RPM readout, built-in spindle indexing on the head stock and a redesigned tailstock with internal storage, chrome-trimmed handwheels and a laser-etched, self-ejecting quill. The tool rest assembly also has improved locking on a new profile tool rest that can accommodate an optional dust hood assembly that travels with the tool rest. Additional features include a set of dead centers to hold a spindle for visual comparison, a two-position mount for the optional bed extension, a sliding hammer knockout rod with brass tip, an attached tool caddy and a metal shelf for tool storage.Features:Sliding headstock with electronic variable speed and digital RPM readout for accurate speed adjustmentsSpindle lock and built in spindle indexing on the headstock for drilling hole patterns, routing flutes, and other equally spaced featuresSet of dead centers which hold a spindle for visual comparisonRedesigned tool rest geometry allows for better chisel movement along the too lrestLaser-etched quill is self ejectingTwo-position mount for the optional bed extensionOptional dust assembly that travels with the toolrestBrass tipped knockout bar concentrates the action in the sliding handle; the brass tip will not damage drive centersAttached tool caddy allows convenient access to centers, wrenches, etc.Tailstock has internal storage for additional accessoriesChrome trimmed handwheels are ergonomic for a comfortable feelStandard Equipment:2HP TEFC MotorSafety shield3" face plate and face plate wrench14" tool restMultiple ball-bearing live centerBrass tipped knockout rodDrive centerSpindle lock
The Nova Titan Chuck is a four-jaw, self-centering scroll chuck for large lathes with a 20" diameter swing or larger. It is the largest, most ruggedly built chuck in the Nova range - a full 5" in diameter - and provides super aggressive holding power. The TuffLock geared grip provides incredibly smooth operation and vibration free performance. With single-handed operation, you'll spend more time turning and less time setting up. The chuck is operated with an included ball nose hex wrench with a large, easy-grip handle for fast, positive location. The Titan chuck also features a fully sealed backing plate that prevents buildup of wood dust, ensuring minimal maintenance. Includes PowerGrip jaws. 1-1/4" 8-TPI RH thread (dedicated thread only). Recommended for power workholding on lathes with a 20" to 33" diameter swing.Up to 838mm/33" diameter bowls (using PowerGrip jaws).Up to 482mm/19" length spigots (using PowerGrip jaws).Full packaged weight is (std) 3.67kgs/7.93lbs.Solid sheet steel backing plate prevents build up of wood dust, ensuring minimal maintenance.Precise geared grip with Tuff Lock technology delivers incredibly smooth power.Large 5" diameter chuck body is perfect for large lathes and big projects.Single-handed operation means more time spent turning and less time spent preparing.Ball-nose hex wrench with large, easy grip handle for fast, positive location.Body made from precision machined 1045 High Tensile Steel with a polished self metal finish to allow for closer tolerances.Able to take all Nova accessory jaws.Range of Powergrip Jaws: Expansion: 3.740"-4.961"Contraction (square): 2.165"-3.386"Contraction (spigot): 3.031"-4.252".
This is the standard live center included with all Nova lathes—use as a replacement or as an upgrade for another lathe. With heavy-duty sealed bearings, precisely machined medium tensile carbon steel construction, and a solid steel point to dig into the wood blank, the center provides a long useful life, and solid workholding capabilities. The #2 morse taper fits most brands, but check the manual for your specific lathe to find the morse taper size. 2MT Center, suitable for all lathes with a #2 morse taper tailstock.Heavy-duty sealed ball bearings for long life.Steel point for a solid bite into the turning blank.Precisely machined medium tensile carbon steel.Standard equipment on all Nova lathes.
Based on a piece built at the Shaker community in Hancock, Mass., this table has been sized to meet the demands of today's diners. Bed bolts used in construction ensure that the trestle design can be knocked down easily for moving or storage. The single center stretcher gives plenty vertical legroom and the arched feet give the table a graceful appearance while leaving plenty of space for diners' feet. The posts are turned on a lathe, and then notched with the aid of a shopmade jig.
