This heavy duty planer offers performance and value, loaded with standard features not found on other machines in its class. The powerful 5HP motor and 20" planing capacity will handle the most demanding work. The 5" dust port connects easily to any dust collector. The cutterhead has four high speed steel knives and turns at 5,000 RPM producing 20,000 cuts per minute. The anti-kickback fingers and pressure bar are located in close proximity to the cutterhead for an exceptional finish. The solid cast iron base, table and head are designed for production. The 2-speed oil bath gearbox transmits full power to feed rollers and facilitates fast speed changes at 24 and 31 FPM. The gearbox can be changed to 4-speed with the included gear to run lower speeds of 16 and 20 FPM. The corrugated infeed and fine groove outfeed rollers ensure a smooth feed. The precision ground and polished cast iron table rides on four steel columns giving it plenty of support for the larger workpiece. Heavy cast iron extension wings ensure a flat, smooth cut.Knife setting gauge 5HP motor and 20" planing capacity for heavy duty work Fully enclosed base cabinet with integrated casters for shop mobility Cast iron table with extensions creates a big 55-1/2" x 20" working area Four feed speeds - 24 and 31 FPM, 16 and 20 FPM with gear change - provide versatility Feed rollers and cutterhead supported by full cast iron head assembly for rigidity Product Specifications:Powermatic Part Number: 1791296Model Number: 209Brand: PowermaticHeight: 41.375"Width: 36.625"Length: 26"Net Weight: 770 lbs.Maximum Planing: 20"Maximum Planing Thickness: 8"Maximum Depth of Cut: 3/32"Minimum Planing Length: 6-3/4"Cutterhead Diameter: 3-3/16"Cutterhead Speed: 5000 RPMCuts Per Minute: 20000Feed Rate: 24 and 31 FPMNumber of Knives: 4Dust Port Outside Diameter: 5"Dust Collection Minimum: 900 cu.ft/minCFM Required: Blade Size: 20" x 1" x 1/8"Readout Scale: inch/metricTable Support: 4 columnNumber of Speeds: 4Amps: 21 AMotor Power: 5 HPMotor Phase: 1 PhMotor Voltage: 230 VPrewired Voltage: 230 VStandard Equipment: Single-sided knives 5" diameter dust port Cast iron extension tables
With a blade that runs the full length of the bed, Triton's TRPUL Unlimited Rebate Planer can cut rabbets as deep as your heart desires, and also works great as a standard surface planer as well. It can hog off up to 1/8'' in a single pass, and features a 17-position depth control for fast, precise adjustment of the amount of material you want to remove. Simply repeat the passes until you reach the desired depth. The adjustable auxiliary handle adds comfort, while the integral parking stand prevents damage to the blade when you set the planer down. The blade drum can even be removed and replaced with the included sanding drum to allow easy sanding of the bottoms of your rabbets. Left or right rear dust extraction. The classic American blonde, Hard Maple features creamy white sapwood with a reddish cast, and rugged durability. The wood has an exceptionally fine, even texture, and tight pores that yield an excellent finished surface. These thin boards are machined to 3/4" thickness, eliminating wear and tear on your planer. You won't have to worry about chipout, which is difficult to prevent when planing thin stock. Thin boards are ideal for edging, veneering, inlay, marquetry, sides for decorative boxes, bending stock, bent laminations and whatever else your imagination can dream up!Tree: May reach a height of 70 to 120 feet, with a 24 to 36 inch diameter trunk. Sapwood Color: White with a reddish cast.Heartwood Color: Uniformly pale reddish brown or light tan. Grain: Usually fairly straight, but can also be curly or wavy. Sometimes exhibits decorative figuring like bird's eye, maple burl, blister, leaf, and fiddleback.Texture: Very fine and even.Working properties: Due to hardness, tools must be kept very sharp.Carving: Responds well to carving tools.Steam bending properties: Fair.Strength Properties: Very high bending strength. Resistance to compression parallel to the grain is high. Hardness is rated as medium. It is heavy, and resists denting and marring. Hard Maple can be up to 25 percent harder than Soft Maple.
Also known as "Pau Ferro," Bolivian Rosewood features a deep, chocolate brown tone with hints of purple, interlaced with even darker brown or black growth lines. A dense, but easily worked species native to Central and South America, it has a scent reminiscent of Walnut. The grain varies from straight to irregular and the wood is oily to the touch. Often used for the curving sides of guitars, Bolivian Rosewood steam bends nicely and will take an exceptional finish. All boards are machined S4S, and are planed to 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses, relieving your planer of excess work. You also won't have to worry about chipout, which is difficult to prevent when planing thin stock. Thin boards are ideal for edging, veneering, inlay, marquetry, sides for decorative boxes, bending stock, bent laminations and whatever else your imagination can dream up!Common Names: Bolivian Rosewood, Morado, Pau Ferro.Botanical Classification: Machaerium scleroxylonTree is Native To: Bolivia and Brazil.Average Dried Weight: 53 lb/ft.
