VCarve Desktop provides a powerful, intuitive CNC software solution that is oriented toward users machining parts smaller than 24'' x 24'', or hobbyists with lighter-duty machines. The software includes tools for 2D design and calculation of 2D and 2.5D toolpaths, along with the ability to import and toolpath a single 3D model (STL, OBJ etc.). There is also support to import multiple Vectric Clip Art 3D models (V3M) to create 3D assemblies. The software can import 2D designs from other programs but also provides a full set of drawing and editing tools. The toolpath options cover all typical 2D routing operations such as Profiling, Pocketing, Auto-Inlays and Drilling as well as 2.5D strategies such as V-Carving, Prism carving, Fluting and even a decorative Texturing strategy. For 3D you can Rough and Finish the model and there are options to project 2D and 2.5D toolpaths onto the 3D surface. Each toolpath includes appropriate options to customize the settings and provide a high level of control for different types of operation. In addition, all toolpaths can be previewed to show just how the part will look when it is actually cut, this allows instant feedback to allow toolpaths to be further optimized. VCarve includes the functionality demanded for complex work while remaining incredibly easy to use and affordably priced. The software is used by cabinet makers, wood workers, sign makers, prop makers, plastic fabricators, hobbyists and in many other applications. NOTE: VCarve V8 software is also available in a "V8 Pro'' version (58150, sold separately), which is oriented more toward professionals or woodworkers who machine parts larger than 24'' x 24''. These heavy-duty, state-of-the-craft cutters produce perfect tenons with 60° tapered shoulders for the sturdiest-possible log furniture construction. The funnel shaped, self-centering design ensures flawlessly shaped tenons, and dual precision-ground blades cut twice as fast as single blade models and stay sharp longer. Plus, as part of the cutters' exclusive "IN-SIGHT" visual measurement system, slots along the shaft combine with radial grooves at 1/2" intervals to let you to see your progress and measure tenon length while you cut. Body is CNC machined from aircraft aluminum for maximum strength and minimum weight. Available in three sizes (1", 1-1/2", and 2") corresponding to the diameter tenon that each will cut.
The CNC Shark Touch Probe attaches to the router in any CNC Shark Routing System to trace objects down to 0.001" detail allowing the user to import image data for replicating objects, shapes and patterns. Simply program the Shark to operate at the same detail level as the Touch Probe scan to reproduce the object later. Works well for replicating basic shapes for carvings or reproducing damaged areas on antiques or other irreplaceable items. Requires Cut 3D Software or similar software to be used with the CNC Shark models. Made in the USA. NOTE: To avoid accidents or injury, always be sure to unplug the router prior to attaching the Touch Probe. Touch Probe is compatible with the following machines: CNC Shark Routing System CNC Shark Pro Plus Routing System CNC Shark HD 2.0 Routing System The probe does not work with the 54111 CNC PiranhaIntroducing CNCSharkTalk.com, a new website presented by Rockler where CNC Shark users can chat together, watch how-to videos, ask questions, learn from each other and even show off their CNC Shark projects.
Some of our most dedicated CNC users are luthiers-guitar, mandolin and violin makers-or woodworkers with limited shop space who don't need or even want a full-sized bed on their CNC machines. That's why we've brought in the CNC Shark SlimLine, featuring all of the digital precision of our other machines, but with a 18'' x 48'' bed that is tailored for small shops and smaller scale work like luthiery. Create graceful carvings, corbels and signs. Make your own arch-top guitars, customized electric guitar bodies complete with cut-outs for pickups and electronics, as well as precisely arched tops and plates for mandolins and violins. You can even integrate ornate carvings into your electric guitars. The creative potential of the SlimLine is virtually limitless.
