Getting a look of sophistication can sometimes be simpler than you ever imagined. The distinctive lines of this bed frame were achieved using basic joinery and one primary tool, the router. We've combined styles here as well as two wood species to add even more flair to this project.
With two joinery bits for basic dados and rabbets, plus three bearing-guided edge profiling bits, this five-piece router bit set will cover the bases for both solid structure and visual embellishment. All bits have 1/2" shanks to reduce chatter and provide maximum performance. A convenient storage box is included to organize the bits and protect the cutting edges. Includes five carbide-tipped bits:Rabbeting bit with four bearings (#91595) for 1/2", 7/16", 3/8" and 5/16" x 1/2" rabbets3/4" dia. x 1" long straight bit, 2-fluted (#90638)3/8" radius x 5/8" high roundover bit (#29083)45° x 1/2" high chamfer bit (#91551)5/32" radius x 15/32" high Roman ogee bit (#91628)
For use on virtually any router table with a standard 3/4" miter slot, this jig features a smooth-sliding backer sled and three precision-machined aluminum indexing keys to give you air-tight joints with either 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" spacing. Works with stock up to 3/4" thick. For compatibility, the near edge of your table's miter track must be between 4-1/2" and 6-1/4" from the center of the bit.Stable MDF platform has low-friction melamine coating for added durability and easy cleanup.ABS plastic backer sled provides ample support, and is also predrilled for a sacrificial faceEasy-grip knobs lock platform into miter slotPlatform measures 10-3/4" x 12-3/8" x 1/2"Includes all necessary mounting hardwareThe jig requires a straight router bit to match the size of the indexing key.Up-cut spiral bits deliver the cleanest cuts and prevent blowout.
With a full 1" of carbide length and four interchangeable bearings, this rabbeting bit is capable of cutting in horizontally at 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" increments, and up to 1" vertically, infinitely adjustable with your router. The carbide is ground to a fine edge to provide the longest possible cutting life, and smooth, burn-free rabbets. It features a rugged 1/2" shank that cuts vibration for the smoothest possible cut. A hex wrench is included for swapping the bearings.
