With its graceful, elongated round over accented by a small bead, the profile on this edge forming bit looks at home on a wide variety of cabinetry styles. The 3/8" guide bearing makes setups fool-proof, and the 1/2" shank with high-grade carbide leaves a smooth, chatter-free cut.
Our Convex Edging Bit can be used to rout the rounded flanks of homemade Lincoln logs-a children's classic. Simply cut the profiles and then use a straight bit to cut half-lap dados in the logs so they interlock. In addition, the bit can be used to rout a rounded edge on shelves and table tops. The rounded profile measures 1/2" in length, so it will leave two 1/8" beads on 3/4" stock.
Clear bit guard offers good visibility, yet keeps your fingers safely away from the spinning bit. Purchase as an add-on to an older table or as a replacement for a lost or broken bit guard. If you need the guard with mounting hardware included see our separate package 55158.
Use this bit to apply a comfortable finger recess around the edges of doors and drawers, useful when you want a clean look without knobs or other hardware. You can also use it to rout finger pull stock that is applied separately, and you can even use it as a decorative edge treatment for table tops and other cabinet components.
