Provided your router has enough horsepower, horizontal panel raising bits offer an exceptionally smooth shearing cut, and virtually eliminate fuzzing on the end grain of your panels. In addition, they allow you to raise panels with curving profiles, such as for arched doors or cathedral style doors. These raised panel bits are manufactured to Rockler's exacting standards, and include guide bearings to ensure proper relief to fit into the grooves of your rail and stile doors.
Our Core Box Bits are available in several angles to cut rounded grooves and slots of varying widths that can be both decorative and functional. Sometimes called round nose bits, they are commonly used for sign-making, and are also ideal for fluted columns, finger pulls, drain grooves on cutting boards, drip rails for window sills and more. Two flutes. 1/4" shanks.
