This bit creates a drip rail edge for your countertops that is both practical and beautiful. The raised round over keeps liquids from dripping onto the floor-an essential feature when cooking or washing dishes. It also helps contain rolling pencils and other solid objects. In addition, the round over is pleasing to the eye and to the touch, and provides a comfortable edge to rest against. The bearing guide makes the bit easy to use. Simply apply a separate edge molding with enough projection for the profile, then rout along the edge to create the drip rail.
With a full 1" of carbide length and four interchangeable bearings, this rabbeting bit is capable of cutting in horizontally at 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" increments, and up to 1" vertically, infinitely adjustable with your router. The carbide is ground to a fine edge to provide the longest possible cutting life, and smooth, burn-free rabbets. It features a rugged 1/2" shank that cuts vibration for the smoothest possible cut. A hex wrench is included for swapping the bearings.
Use this bit to apply a comfortable finger recess around the edges of doors and drawers, useful when you want a clean look without knobs or other hardware. You can also use it to rout finger pull stock that is applied separately, and you can even use it as a decorative edge treatment for table tops and other cabinet components.
