Our beading bits come in a range of sizes to suit many applications. Use the smaller bits to make beaded trim moldings, and the larger bits for bull-nosed edges on thicker stock. A 1/4" beaded molding mitered around doors and drawer fronts adds a subtle and strikingly attractive effect. In bullnosing applications, a beading bit gives you a true half-round profile, without the flat in the middle that a round over bit would leave. It also machines the edge in one pass rather than two. All of these bits feature sturdy 1/2" shanks for extremely smooth, stable routing.
The CNC Shark HD3 includes the NEW Virtual Zero software. This new and improved software ''maps'' the surface of your table or workpiece and uses the map as a dynamic reference point. This eliminates problems caused by warped or bowed workpieces and small inconsistencies in the table. It also allows you to carve and machine stock that is intentionally convex to begin with. A new electronics package expands the capabilities of the CNC Shark and allows attachments like a pendant control system. The CNC Shark HD3 also features a new gantry reinforced with plate aluminum and a sturdy interlocking table that is much heavier than prior models for more accuracy and less flex. It has anti-backlash, wear-compensated leadscrews on all axes and is built to handle larger routers such as the Porter Cable 890 series, Bosch 1617 series or large water-cooled spindles. To accommodate the greater torque levels, it features adjustable bearings to give more stability during heavy cutting. Perfect for carving and machining a large variety of projects made from wood, soft metals or plastics. Simply supply a PC computer with USB 2.0 port and any of the routers listed below, connect the USB cable to the controller box and load the software.Includes VCarve 8 Desktop, Vector Art 3D Sampler Pack and CNC Shark control software with Virtual Zero technology.Fully compatible with the following routers (sold separately): Bosch 1617 and 1618 Porter Cable 890 Series Porter Cable 690 Series (6902VS must be manually started) DeWalt 610, 616, 618FREE CNC Project Plans from Woodworker's Journal: Butler's Tray Weather Station Cribbage Board Workshop Jig Modern Table Outlet Cover Luggage Tags Chinese Checkerboard Puzzle TrayVisit the CNC Shark Forum CNCSharkTalk.com, a website presented by Rockler where CNC Shark users can chat together, share files, watch how-to videos, ask questions, learn from each other and even show off CNC Shark projects.
Create signs and table tops with decorative edging in far less time with this unique router bit mounted in your CNC machine. The innovative dual-purpose bit simultaneously cuts your parts to size and applies an edge profile, meaning there's no need to change bits, or to remove the parts to machine them again on a traditional router table. No bearing guide means longer lifespan, and no marks on the edge of your work piece from gummed up bearings. Note: For best results and longer tool life we recommend slowing the feed rate and making several passes.
Vertical panel raising bits concentrate more of their weight toward the center of the bit, reducing strain on the motor, and allowing you to spin the bit at higher RPMs. This means you can raise panels with an ordinary 2 HP router mounted in a router table. Precision machining paired with a sturdy 1/2" shank ensure smooth, chatter-free cuts. Note: vertical panel raising bits cannot be used for cathedral-style or arched doors.
